Transportation

A number of various chemical substances and materials are used in batteries which are necessary for the chemical reactions which generate an electrical current. However, a number of these substances can be harmful if not handled or transported in the proper manner. For this reason, EUROBAT has prepared a number of guides on the safe handling and transport of batteries to ensure a minimal impact on the environment and to the health of the public, the most recent of which is the ADR 2009 which has been revised in September 2010, available here.
