The official high level launch meeting of the Green eMotion Project took place on 31 March in Brussels. This project, integrated in the framework of the EU Green Cars Initiative, aims to create a unique and user-friendly framework for green electromobility in the EU. The project gathers 42 partners from industry, the energy sector, electric vehicles manufacturers, municipalities as well as universities and research institutions. Green eMotion has a total budget of 42 Mio. € and will be funded by the European Commission with 24 Mio. €, from FP7 funding.
With duration of four years, the project will develop to demonstrate a commonly accepted and user-friendly framework consisting of interoperable and scalable technical solutions in connection with a sustainable business platform. Smart Grid developments, innovative ICT solutions, different types of EVs as well as urban mobility concepts will be taken into account for the implementation of this framework.
